Railroad Transportation Request Document for John Turk, Company I, dated December 19, 1862 to ride the New Jersey Central Railway from New York to Pittsburg.

Bates' Roster notes that Pvt. Turk entered his service with the Roundheads on December 7, 1861 but was not accounted for at the end of the War...  The Transportation document was issued the week after the Battle of Fredericksburg, which the Roundheads fortunately did not have much involvement in except as a support role.  What happened?

Courtesy of Mr. John Turner, who purchased the document on eBay (www.ebay.com). Thank you John for your Contribution!
